"You have to get to Urgent Care immediately to make sure there's nothing wrong with your brain."
It is absolutely frightening when the nurse tells you these words on the call. Friend, those are some of the scariest words I've heard. Getting out of bed was difficult since I felt really dizzy and the pain on my head was unbearable, unlike anything I had ever experienced before, except after having a car accident.
That same night, my friend drove me to Urgent Care. Thankfully, the staff was very understanding of my sensitivity to the light. I was wearing thick shades to avoid the light and when I was taken to the room, the staff dimmed the lights for me! I felt super grateful. The doctor immediately ordered blood tests and a CT scan. The results were great. In fact, he said, "your liver is functioning great and you are very healthy". I felt reassured yet confused and I asked "so why do I have this much pain?" He answered by saying that it was migraines...

We only have one body, when it works well we can take it for granted, but when it doesn’t, your entire life can be affected. My life was transformed by adopting a “clean eating” healthy lifestyle. About 11 years ago, I made radical changes to my nutrition. I started eating whole foods loaded with good nutrition. Since then, I now have more energy, mental alertness, improved sleep, and a stronger sense of confidence in myself. For so many years I have become accustomed to enjoying an overall wellness while rarely getting sick.
This past week I got a sinus infection and was reminded of how awful it feels to be sick and how it affects your day to day productivity. For example, being sick dropped my energy tank to "empty." My energy was so low that I was not able to stay mentally focused, which deprived me from completing all my important tasks for the week. I realized my sinus infection was not getting any better so I decided to take a day off from work to rest. I also did not...
